The Best (& Worst) Matcha Spots in Dubai: My Honest Ratings

Ela at The Jet Set Lifestyle Group

As a die-hard matcha lover, I’ve made it my mission to find the best matcha in Dubai—from elegant co-working cafés to beachside refreshers. Some have been absolute game-changers, while others… not so much. If you’re looking for the best matcha spots in Dubai, here’s my honest take on where to go (and where to skip!).

1. Angel Cakes, Dubai Hills

RATING: 8/10

This one is a solid choice! The matcha quality is great, though it was a little on the watery side. If they perfected the consistency, it would easily be a 10/10.

2. Coast Bowls, Kite Beach

RATING: 10/10

If I could live off this matcha for the rest of my life, I would. It’s refreshing, smooth, and the perfect beachside drink. Absolute must-try!

3. Brunch & Cake, Jumeirah Islands

RATING: 6/10

It does the job, but that’s about it. Nothing special, just your standard matcha latte. If you’re already there for brunch, go for it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

4. The Matcha Tokyo, JBR

RATING: 9/10

If you love your matcha strong and high-quality, this is the place to be. It’s bold, energizing, and perfect for that mid-day caffeine boost.

5. The Cha Club, Dubai Mall

RATING: 6/10

I had high hopes for this one, but the experience was ruined by an overload of pistachios inside the drink. While the flavors were nice, the texture just wasn’t enjoyable.

6. Orto, Jumeirah Street

RATING: 9/10

Another coconut water-based matcha, and I’m obsessed. It’s light, refreshing, and a great alternative to milk-based options.

7. Roasters, JBR

RATING: 10/10

This coconut water matcha might just be my new favorite. It’s so much more refreshing and less heavy than milk-based matchas—definitely worth trying!

If you’re a matcha lover in Dubai, you need to try the coconut water-based options at Coast Bowls and Roasters… they’re on another level. For a strong, classic matcha, The Matcha Tokyo is a must. And if you’re looking for a spot to avoid? Maybe skip The Cha Club unless you love a little crunch with your drink.
